Future Business Leaders of America Conference

Just wrapped up a full day of speaking to over 1200 teens in Anaheim at the FBLA National Leadership Conference. Totally wild, semi surreal and really really cool :) It's way different from the kind of speaking I usually do with the girls, but I always welcome a challenge! So, after a mini meltdown with my mac and an unruly LCD projector (and 2 tech boys from Colorado who totally saved the day - Thank You!) things got off to a great start! So grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of such a huge event, and loved meeting all the amazing teens (many with the most amazing southern accents - so jealous!).

Then, after my one day and night in Anaheim, I headed up the coast to my second home - Santa Barbara. I'm so happy to be back, and even happier that SB now has its very own PinkBerry! Ahh - sooo yummy! It totally made up for the 3 hours it took to get there! Rush hour traffic - not cool.

I'm really looking forward to some great meetings this week - including Girls Inc on Tuesday! And more Pinkberry...a lot more Pinkberry :)

Hope your summer is off to a rocking start - if not check out my mini eBook 35 Things To Do For An EG Summer here.

Lots of Love,
xxk

NEW! Empowered Gal Of The Month

Check out our newest EG Of The Month - Katie Rox!

About Katie - In her own words:

"Born and raised in Alberta.  Didn’t like singing at first - too shy.  Changed my mind for an unknown reason.  Sang a lot in festivals, barns, weddings, all throughout my childhood and teen years.  Went to college and majored in music.  Auditioned for a music competition style tv show called “Popstars” and was a finalist!  Moved to Vancouver.  Started working for Bryan Adams at his studio called The Warehouse.  Sang some backups on a song for Mandy Moore. Joined a rock band – Jakalope.   Made a rock record.  Made some rock music videos.  Sang the theme song for DeGrassi. Got some nominations of the Juno and Much Music variety.  Decided to switch directions and follow my acoustic heart.  Made a record in my closet: “High Standards” .  Toured Canada the old fashioned way – in a van with some dudes and a dudette.  Learned a LOT.  Short break.  Wrote some new songs.  Recorded a new record (in a garage this time) and now…releasing it for you."
